Simple Syrup

Shake together equal parts sugar and water

TL;DR

125g sugar, 125g water, shake in a mason jar, yields ~8oz syrup

Recipe With Notes

  • 1 part sugar, 1 part water
  • 125g sugar and 125g water yields ~8oz syrup
  • Add water to mason jar
  • Add sugar
  • Put the lid on and shake (you could also stir)
  • Let sit for a few minutes to see if the mixture is clear
  • If it's not clear, shake again
  • Mark the jar with masking tape with the date and put in the fridge
  • Expect it to keep for a few weeks

Old Recipe (heated)

  • 2 parts white sugar and 1 part water
  • mix in sauce pan on low heat
  • stir until sugar is dissolved
  • let cool
  • transfer to mason jar
  • store at room temperature (for 2wks+)
