🍒 A La Louisiane
Rye, sweet vermouth, Bénédictine, Peychaud's bitters, absinthe
This cocktail, the house drink the La Louisiane built in 1881, was first published in 1937 and then re-published in 2011. [1]
The drink is variation on Vieux Carré.
Ingredients
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 3/4 oz sweet vermouth
- 1/2 oz Bénédictine
- 3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 3 dashes absinthe
- Garnish: cherry
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
- Stir until chilled
- Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick and Nora glass
- Garnish with a skewered cherry
