Navy Strength

What happens when you spill your drink on your gunpowder?

Navy strength refers to rum that is 57% ABV. Why that number? If you're in a battle on the sea and a cask of rum is damaged/destroyed and gets all your gunpowder wet, you can still use it. That's right, the rum is strong enough that the gunpowder will still ignite when wet.
