There are 3 ingredients required to develop your own bff language. None of this can be faked. But we can all do it!

You and your buddy must have the time and attention to listen actively enough to pick up on and recall each other's unqiue patterns of language use. No one loves more than to be heard and seen.
You and your mate must, like people shaking hands, calling birds, and puppies play-bowing at the park, test and solidify these patterns thru mimicry. you notice they like to text in all lowercase? mimic it. They use "!!" in some particular context? Do the same. When in person, we'd be mirroring their body language semi-consciously. While in text, we can mimic to the same effect.
You and your partner, must bring a sense of play. I cant count the number of times a mistyped sentence, a mispronounced word, or misremembered phrase has become the seed of a new pattern. We're playing. A mistake is a new idea. A misstep is a new path. Catch your partner and enjoy holding them. Scrapping your knee is part of play.
