Common Types of Syrups

(I'll prep these at home and bring them for everyone to taste)

  • simple 1:1
  • demerara 2:1
  • simple + gum
  • agave (store-bought)
  • honey syrup (honey + water + little bit of heat)
  • maple

Making Syrups

  • kitchen scale
  • hot water
  • stove heat only when you have to, slower is better, stirring constantly to ensure no part over cooks/burns
  • sous vide for precise repeatability
